Maha Parinibbana Of Venerable Sar-Taung Sayardaw (ဆားေတာင္ဆရာေတာ္ဘုရားၾကီး၏ သံသရာေနာက္ဆံုးခရီး)

The following photos were taken from Sar-Taung Monastary at Sint Kaing Township, near Mandalay in January, 2008. At that time, Sayardaw had passed away for nearly three months since November, 2007. The last funeral ceremony would be held in February, 2008.

The lying body of the Sayardaw was put in the glass coffin as a natural position. The body seemed like an old monk was sleeping soundly. There was no awful thing and smell on the Sayardaw’s body and his environment.

Sayardaw was living his whole life without fame and no-profile. It is quite difficult to get his biography in detail and his teachings in printed. There are some short teachings which he gave during his conversations with disciples.
